I think this movement gives new language to old problems- referring to all the turmoil and growing pains of childhood and adolescence as “mental health problems”, with the idea that there are cures for these “mental health problems”, namely talk therapies of various kinds.
Very clear writing, mentally crisp like seltzer water on a hot day. Among many things which I dwell on and see the ancient symbol of the universe renewing itself, the Ouroboros. Interesting analogy, I rejected it at first but self-generating can mean harm as well as fecundity. Nicely done.
Informative
Great reportage. Abigail Shrier wrote about this too
I HIGHLY recommend it: https://www.amazon.com/Bad-Therapy-Kids-Arent-Growing/dp/0593542924
